Have you ever wondered how a Filipina mestiza would've looked in the 1870's? Well, the photo below could just be it. This stunningly beautiful woman is of Filipino and Chinese ancestry. Back then, in the 1870's, she's referred to as a mestizo de sanglay. In today's parlance, she is a tsinita. This particular photo was taken by the photographer Francisco Van Camp circa 1875.
