Wetsuits With Designs That Can Help Stop Shark Attacks Against Swimmers

Hamish Jolly, an ocean swimmer and surfing entrepreneur in Australia gives this talk about shark-deterrent wetsuits. In developing the suits, Mr. Jolly and a team of scientists tapped into what science knows about shark vision. This new approach is needless to say not a 100% deterrent but it does help a lot in ensuring the safety of swimmers and surfers.

Mr. Jolly and Craig Anderson founded Shark Attack Mitigation Systems (SAMS) in 2011. The shark-deterrent design technology that the company has developed can also be applied to stickers for surfboards, kayaks, dive tanks, and other watersport products and equipment.
