Cocoa Farmers In The West African Nation Of Ivory Coast Taste Chocolate For The First Time

The West African nation of Ivory Coast is the world's largest exporter of cocoa beans. In the manufacture of chocolate, cocoa beans are the main ingredients. With that said, you'd think that Ivory Coast would be flooding with chocolate products. However, this doesn't seem to be the case. In fact, a lot of the people there haven't even tasted a bar of chocolate. They have no idea that the cocoa beans they are exporting in massive quantities are used to manufacture chocolate products.

In the following video clip taken from a segment of Metropolis TV, the host visits cocoa farmers and have them taste chocolate for the very first time. It still feels weird that people who produce the main component of chocolates have never tasted the product.
What's even weirder is that some of the farmers think that their cocoa beans exports are used to create wine. As one of the men quipped, they were told of this when they were young.
