A Pinay singing group composed of four sisters from Santiago City, Isabela is currently making waves in South Korea in a television talent show called Superstar K. The talented group who call themselves MICA is currently competing in the show's sixth season. The name of the group is a combination of the first letters of the names of the members: Mylene, Irene, Celina, and Almira.
Just recently, the group impressed the judges in the Korean show with their rendition of the hit song Let It Go from the Disney animated movie Frozen. Among the judges is Ailee, a Korean-American singer who is among the most recognized faces in Kpop. It also happened that the members of MICA are huge fans of the singer. The MICA sisters are no stranger to performing in front of people. They've been singing for years prior to auditioning for Superstar K. In 2012, they won the grand prize in the noontime variety show It's Showtime on
ABS-CBN. Back then, the group referred to themselves as the Gollayan
Sisters. And in 2013, the group bagged the Senior Grand Champion Vocal
Group at the 17th edition of the World Championships of Performing Arts
in the United States.
