Mike Stilkey disagrees. Books can also be used as a canvas for a painting or materials for a sculpture. This was exactly what he did when he was brought to the country last year by Fully Booked to create a sculpture at their The Fort branch.
The piece is called Discarded Romance and it was created using thousands of discarded books. After being stacked, the books are then painted over by Stilkey.
