The Late Philip Seymour Hoffman Talking About Happiness In Short Animated Film

In December of 2012, the award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman and the philosopher Simon Critchley sat down for an evening of conversation at the Rubin Museum of Art as part of a series of on-stage conversations dubbed Happy Talk. The dialogue dealt with topics on happiness, love, and death. Hoffman died on February 2, 2014.

Now, Blank On Blank has taken one of the best parts of Hoffman's words in the conversation with Critchley and had it animated. The resulting short film is nothing short of excellent.

Here's the full conversation between Hoffman and Critchley if you have forty-five minutes to spare.

Real Life And Odd Characters Collide In Storyboard Artist's Short Animated Works

A giant crab eating in a dumpster. A heavily-bearded man running over hotdogs like a lumberjack running over logs. A crazy penguin dancing inside of a refrigerator. A creature spitting out a black cat. A Spongebob-like character jumping up and down on top of a stack of pancakes. These are just some of the darkly humorous scenes you'll see in Marty Cooper's series of animated work.

Using an animation technique that involves traditional animation cels and an iPhone, Cooper creates short clips which combine real scenes with characters he draw and animated on the cels. The visual effect is nothing short of amazing. For more of Cooper's work, find him on Tumblr or Instagram.

Brilliant Stop-Motion Animated Short Featuring Ocean Scenes Created From Man-Made Objects

Calling Adam Pesapane talented is a huge understatement. The American director and animator who goes by the nickname PES is beyond talented. His body of work is pure genius. Simply bloody creative.

A recent work of his is The Deep, a stop-motion animated short featuring ocean scenes and starring creatures made from metallic man-made objects. It's extraordinary as expected. Now, can somebody please get Pesapane to turn this short film into a full movie? I'd watch it, for sure.

Amazing Animated Short Featuring A Black Bird And Two Elephant Seals

It's hard to believe that this amazing animated short is the work of an animation student. Not only that, it's the student's first animated short. This young and talented artist is going places, for sure. He is Victor Caire of France. DreamWorks, Disney, somebody, hire this guy already.

4 Charles Bukowski Poems Brought To Life Through Animation

If you are a fan of Charles Bukowski - the late American poet, novelist, and short story writer - you are going to appreciate these four short animated pieces inspired by some of his poems.

1) The Man With The Beautiful Eyes:  A film by Jonathan Hodgson.

2) Bluebird: Animation by Monika Umba

3) The Laughing Heart: Illustrated and animated by Bradley Bell.

4) Roll The Dice: Film by Guilherme Moretti Cheriato.

What If Animals Are Extremely Fat And Round (Videos)

It's very uncommon to see animals in the wild that are extremely fat and round. For instance, your only chance of encountering a fat cat is to visit some cat lady's house. In their natural environments, cats (big and small) are nastily fit. That is because the world is their gym.

But what if animals in the wild are extremely fat and round? The talented animators behind the YouTube channel Rollin' Wild has come up with several videos showing what could possibly happen if animals are indeed fat and round. The clips are hilarious. From bloated crocodiles and flamingos to over-sized leopards that can't hunt, these clips are animation gold.
