What's the name of the rock song playing in the second trailer of the action war movie 12 Strong starring Chris Hemsworth, Michael Shannon, and Michael Pena? It featured the following lyrics: "Can't you hear me knocking on your window? Can't you hear me knocking on your door? Hear me ringing big bell tolls. Hear me singing soft and low." Well, the title of the song is Can't You Hear Me Knocking and it's a classic tune by The Rolling Stones. However, the one featured in the 12 Strong movie trailer is a cover by another band.
I tried searching for the name of the recording artist or band behind the cover because it's really good. Unfortunately, I wasn't successful. I contacted someone I know who might be able to pinpoint the artist behind the cover. She said she'll get back to me soon. I'm still waiting for her reply.
Anyway, Can't You Hear Me Knocking is the fourth track in Sticky Fingers, the studio album released by The Rolling Stones in April of 1971. It was named by the Rolling Stone magazine in 2004 as the 25th in their list of "The 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time". With a run time of over seven minutes, it's one of The Rolling Stones's longest songs. It has been either covered or sampled by various artists and bands like Bernard Fowler, Chuck D, Santana, Scott Weiland, The Bamboos, Release, and The Brown Derbies.
The first trailer for the movie also featured a classic rock song as covered by a contemporary artist. I Won't Back Down by Tom Petty was featured on the first trailer. But the trailer used a cover version by Ryan Star (Brand New Day, Stay Awhile, Last Train Home, Breathe). The more popular covers of I Won't Back Down include those by Johnny Cash, Sam Elliot, Pearl Jam, and Kris Kristofferson.

Blade Runner 2049 Movie Soundtrack Featuring The Music Of Johann Johannsson
The original soundtrack for Blade Runner 2049 was composed by Johann Johannsson, an Icelandic music composer. An accomplished musician and composer, Johannsson was the recipient of two nominations for Best Original Score from the Academy Awards (The Theory of Everything and Sicario) and a win from the Golden Globe Awards (The Theory of Everything). Blade Runner 2049 is the fourth film by director Denis Villeneuve that Johannsson scored. The other three are Prisoners, Arrival, and Sicario. Johannsson disclosed during an interview in a national radio in Iceland that he was chosen to write the music during the early development of the film.
On the same radio interview, Johannsson paid tribute to the musical score for the first Blade Runner film that was written and composed by the Greek musician Vangelis. Johannsson admitted that Vangelis's original score for the original film and his other works were a huge influence on his own compositions. He added that Vangelis's solo albums have been a source of great inspiration for him. It can be recalled that a lot of the original film's fans and enthusiasts got upset when it was announced that Vangelis wasn't returning for the sequel.
When queried if he's going to revisit some of the themes in Vangelis's original score for the first film, Johannsson didn't provide a direct answer but he stated that filling up the shoes that Vangelis vacated is going to be an "enormous challenge of mythical proportion". In another interview with LRM Online, Johansson added that Blade Runner is one of his all-time favorite films which is why he's taking the responsibility of composer for the sequel very seriously.
