A Pet Hamster In Japan Crams Five Carrots Into Its Mouth

A pet owner in Japan caught on film his pet hamster cramming five baby carrots into its mouth. Although the video is cute, some people are concerned that it's dangerous. However, such is not the case. Food hoarding is a behavioral characteristic of hamsters. They would stuff and carry raw food in their spacious cheek pouches which they would then carry to their underground storage chambers. With their cheeks full, their heads can double or even triple in size.

Pen spinners Ian Jenson and PPM of Japan show their mad pen tricks in this three-minute clip by Kuma Films.

The two twirl the pens from one finger to another with amazing ease. They can even make the pens jump from one leg to another. Also referred to as pen twirling, pen mawashi and pen tricks, pen spinning "is a form of object manipulation that involves the deft manipulation of a writing instrument with one's hands" [Wikipedia]. It has evolved from a form of self-entertainment to one wherein enthusiasts meet and compete against each other.
