Iyaman Farm in Bila, Bauko (Location, How to Get There, Rates, Amenities, Contact Details)

Iyaman Farm is a tourist destination located in Sanguan, Bila, Bauko in Mt. Province. The place is a 4 to 6-hour drive from Baguio City. In this quick guide, you can read about the most important information about the place. If you are planning to visit Iyaman Farm, you should definitely read this guide first.

Before You Go There

You need to contact the management of the farm and let them know of your plan to visit. Because of the ongoing pandemic, there are protocols by the municipality of Bauko that the farm has to adhere to. They can't just let anyone and everyone inside the farm. They usually don't accept walk-ins. This means that you can't just go there without an advance reservation. This is why it's very important that you contact them and make reservations then go there on your scheduled visit. Scroll down to the bottom of this article to find the complete contact details of the farm. Such details include their cellphone number, email, address, and a link to their official Facebook page.

How to Get There

At this time, there are no public utility vehicles (i.e. buses) that run the Baguio-Bila route. With that said, it's recommended that you have your own car service when you go there. As we mentioned earlier, getting to Iyaman Farm is a 4 to 6-hour ride. So be prepared for the long drive. If you have never traversed the Halsema Highway before, be prepared for the winding curves and high cliffs. The good thing is that the road is 99% paved so you don't have to worry about any rough roads. You just have to be careful because you will be driving through steep mountain slopes.

It would be better if you travel with someone who is familiar with the road from Baguio to Bauko. You have to follow Halsema Highway until the section in Mabaay wherein the highway branches out to the left and the right. You should take the left road because the right road leads to Bontoc. After Mabaay, you can just ask people along the way how to get to Iyaman Farm. It would also be good if you use Google Maps. The directions there are pretty accurate.

The View

The farm is located high up in a mountain so you have a good view of the surrounding Bauko mountains and communities. If you love nature and the outdoors, Iyaman Farm is a great place to relax and rejuvenate. Enjoy a cup of Benguet coffee while savoring the beautiful views around you.

Cagayan Hymn Song Lyrics (In English, Ilocano, and Ybanag)

These are the lyrics for the official hymn song of the province of Cagayan in the Philippines. There are three versions in English (by J.H.M. Butler), Ilocano (by Petrona Macadaeg), and Ybanag (by Nicanor Carag).

English Version by J.H.M. Butler

I
Cagayan, my valley home is dear to me,
Though from her my footsteps far stray,
Over mountains, plains, beyond the deep blue sea
I shall love her ever be where’er I may.

Chorus:
Cagayan, O smiling land of beauty
Cagayan, my heart clings unto thee;
Though from thee my footsteps far away may stray
I shall love thee ever be where’er I may.

II
Subtler charms and beauty other skies my yield
Other lands a moment may allure;
But my turn to Cagayan will be revealed
That my love for her shall ever more endure.

Chorus:
Cagayan, O smiling land of beauty
Cagayan, my heart clings unto thee;
Though from thee my footsteps far away may stray
I shall love thee ever be where’er I may.

III
‘Tis not riches of the soil, indeed, that hold me to her
But treasures of the soul; virtues humble,
Loyal hearts with courage hold, Far outweigh
The earthly says the Holy Scroll.

Chorus:
Cagayan, O smiling land of beauty
Cagayan, my heart clings unto thee;
Though from thee my footsteps far away may stray
shall love thee ever be where’er I may.

IV
May her sons and daughters evermore aspire
To be faithful, lovely, good and true
Thrifty, peaceful learned, may they never tire
Standing for the right though for the right be few.

Chorus:
Cagayan, O smiling land of beauty
Cagayan, my heart clings unto thee;
Though from thee my footsteps far away may stray
I shall love thee ever be where’er I may.

Bulacan Hymn Song Lyrics

These are the lyrics for the official and provincial hymn of Bulacan in the Philippines. The words were written by Mandy Centeno. The music was composed by Jacinto Garcia. The song is in Filipino/Tagalog.

Ipagbunyi natin bayang sinilangan
Lahi ng magiting na mamamayan
Mga bayaning nagbuwis ng buhay
Hindi malilimot kailan man

Hinahangaang mutyang may kagandahan
Mayuyuming paraluman
Kabalikat ng pamahalaan
Karangalan ng Bulacan
Kalinangan natin ngayon
Galing Pook ay nakamtan

Magkaisa’t magmahalan, magdamayan habang buhay
Kabataa’y nakalaang maghandog ng kagitingan
At pag-asa sa kinabukasan
Pagmalaki natin tayo’y pang Number One

Sa lahat ng mabuting larangan
Kooperatiba at palakasan
Kalusugan at kalinisan
Magkapit-bisig tayo ating ialay

Nakamit na tagumpay
Karangalan mo’y walang kapantay
Lalawigan ng Bulacan, ang Bulacan.

Ways on How to Recycle or Reuse Old and Worn-Out Pairs of Shoes

Just think about this. How many pairs of shoes have you gone through in the past year? Probably 3 to 6 pairs right? Each year in America, 300 million pairs of shoes are discarded and thrown away. Most of these go to landfills. Here's the problem - because of the materials used in manufacturing shoes, it takes an average of 30 to 40 years for a pair to decompose. It's a nightmare. With that said, if you don't want to contribute to the amount of hard-to-decompose pairs of shoes accumulating in landfills, it's time to either recycle or reuse your worn-out pairs instead of just chucking them into the garbage can.

Here are some of the best and most effective ways on how to recycle or reuse your old pairs of shoes. The main goal is to ensure that your old shoes don't end up in a landfill.

1. Donate them.

If the pair is still in good or fair condition and can still be used, you should consider donating it to another person or to an organization that accepts old shoes as donations. If you live in a city, there could be a homeless shelter where people are badly in need of shoes. If there's a homeless person you always pass by on your way to work, maybe that person needs a good pair of shoes. There are charities and organizations that collect old shoes. A good example of such an organization is Soles4Souls. Just leave the shoes at one of their drop-off locations or ship the shoes to them and they'll do the rest. Not only are you helping people, you are also helping in keeping shoes from getting into landfills.

Organizations that accept shoe donations:
a. WaterStep - They collect shoes, sell them to an exporter, and use the funds for their safe drinking water projects around the world.
b. Share Your Soles - They bring used shoes to those in greatest need all across the globe.
c. Planet Aid - They accept all kinds of donations including used but in good condition shoes.

2. Turn them into bird nests.

Shoes are made of tough and sturdy materials like rubber, leather, foam and plastic. Their "hollows" can be transformed into neat and long-lasting nests for birds. Think of turning the old shoe into a birdhouse. Of course, you need to make some modifications to make it more attractive to nearby birds. If you have pet birds housed in a sizable cage, you can put the shoe in the cage as a nest. Give it the necessary padding to make it more comfortable for the birds.

3. Take it to a recycling center near you.

Every major city in the United States has a recycling center. These centers make it very easy for you to drop your unwanted items. Some even go as far as to pick up the unwanted items from your home. The recycling process in these centers are streamlined and efficient. And they have the technology to properly recycle unwanted materials and products. Many of these centers earn an income by selling recycled products. You can further support them by purchasing their recycled products.

4. Drop them at a Nike store for recycling.

Nike has a recycling program wherein they take old shoes, break them down, and reuse them. The plastic, rubber, foam and leather parts are separated and ground. The materials are then used for various purposes. Sometimes, these are used as surfacing for track tops and playgrounds. They are also used as materials for the production of new pairs of shoes. Just bring your old shoes to a participating Nike and Converse Factory. They accept old shoes not just those made and sold by Nike. They also take in old pairs from other shoe brands. However, they only accept athletic sneakers. They don't accept sandals, boots, dress shoes, and shoes with metal parts such as spikes and cleats.

5. Use them as art materials or turn them into pieces of art.

This is an example of upcycling. Also known as creative use, upcycling is the process of turning unwanted products or unwanted materials into new products or new materials. The unwanted product is the old pair of shoes and the new product is the piece of art you transform it into. You need to be creative if you want to turn those old trainers into art. You cant paint them and use them as wall decoration. You can use them as a part in a modernistic sculpture.

6. Drop them at participating Columbia and Asics stores.

These brands follow the same recycling and reusing program by Nike. And yes, they also accept athletic shoes from other brands. Columbia's recycling program is called ReThreads and their main goal is to help people recycle used clothing and shoes. When Columbia launched their program a few years ago, they pledged financial contributions to select non-profit organizations for every pound of clothing and shoes collected and recycled. The beneficiary non-profits included American Hiking Society, National Park Foundation and Children and Nature Network.

For their recycling program, Asics partnered with Give Back Box, a non-profit that provides a service that makes donating unwanted shoes and apparel effortless and convenient. For detailed instructions on how to donate through Asics and Give Back Box, go here.

7. Have them repaired and restored.

Before you throw them out, check if you can still have them repaired. Most shoe damages can be fixed. There are services out there that specifically repair and restore old or damaged shoes. Some of these services even have mail-in options. This means that you can ship the shoes to them, they'll fix and restore them, then ship them back to you. Here's a few of them such services - Red Wing, Sole Fresh, Cobbler Concierge, NuShoe, and My Shoe Hospital.

Don't Look Up Movie Trailer Song (Don't Bring Me Down by ELO)

What's the title of the song featured in the new trailer for the Netflix movie Don't Look Up? The name of the song is Don't Bring Me Down by the English rock band Electric Light Orchestra or ELO. It's a track from the band's 1979 album Discovery. The song was the biggest hit in the album. It's also the band's highest-charting hit in the United States and the band's second highest-charting hit in the United Kingdom. The band dedicated the song to the NASA Skylab. This was a space station that re-entered the atmosphere of Earth on July 11, 1979. Unfortunately, the space station burned over the Indian Ocean and Western Australia.

So the usage of the song on the trailer of Don't Look Up is no coincidence. The makers of the film specifically chose the song because of its connection to a piece of space and astronomy history.

Jeff Lynne, songwriter and member of ELO said this about the song: "It's a great big galloping ball of distortion. I wrote it at the last minute, 'cause I felt there weren't enough loud ones on the album. This was just what I was after."

About Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)

ELO was originally formed in 1970 by Jeff Lynne, Bev Bevan and Roy Wood. Their music is often categorized in the following genres: pop rock, progressive rock, art rock, and progressive pop. The band has recorded 15 studio albums so far. Breeze caressed by orient seas
Northern door open to all
Is a homeland dear to me

Forlorn country though they say
Orphan of the motherland
Far away by air and sea
But a home dear home to me

Heavy clouds and stormy skies
All of this may come my way
Still I strive for love of thee

(Repeat refrain.)

Badi Falls and Other Waterfalls in Kapangan, Benguet

The municipality of Kapangan in Benguet has several great waterfalls that are worthy of a day's visit. If you enjoy chasing waterfalls, then pack your bags, drive over to Kapangan, and see what it has in store for you. Here's a quick overview of the waterfalls that you can find in Kapangan.

Badi Falls

This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the entire Cordillera region. Nearly a hundred feet high and several dozen feet wide, it's quite a sight to behold. It's a huge thundering curtain of water that crashes on the rock boulders below and underneath it. And it's very accessible from Baguio City. The waterfall is located within the vicinity of barangay Sagubo. It's about an hour and a half drive from Baguio City to Sagubo then another hour of hiking from the dropoff point to the waterfall.

The best time to visit Badi Falls would be on the rainy season (June to September). During this season, the entire width of the waterfall is usually covered with water. The waterfall still has water during the dry summer months but the view isn't as good. That said, if you want to see Badi Falls in its full magnificent beauty, you should visit it during the rainy months.

Badi Falls is a designated tourist spot in Kapangan. The local government unit requires that you register first and acquire a local guide before going to the waterfall. It's best that you contact the Kapangan Tourism Office several days in advance so that they can instruct you on what to do and how to proceed. Usually, the process is that you have to go to the Sagubo barangay hall to register and write on their log book. It's also there that you are provided with a guide (or guides if you are with a large group). Yes, there are fees to be paid and the guide (or guides) have to be compensated.

As I mentioned earlier, Badi Falls is not very far from Baguio City. You can go there and be back in Baguio City before the night falls. If you plan on taking your time at the waterfall, it's best that you start early, preferably around 4:00 or 5:00 am. Let's say you start at 5:00 am. You should be there at the Sagubo barangay hall around 6:30 am. It will take you 30 minutes to register and acquire a guide. By 7:00 am, you drive to the dropoff point. This will be another 30 minutes. From the dropoff point to the waterfall, hiking should take you between 1 and 2 hours depending on your pace. You can spend an hour or two at the waterfall. The hike back to the dropoff point will take more time because it's an uphill hike. Probably between 2-3 hours.

Tips and What to Bring When Going to Badi Falls

1. Wear sturdy hiking shoes with a good grip. The downhill hike to the waterfall can be slippery if it rained the night before.
2. Bring a pair of rubber flip-flops or sandals with you. You use these when you are at the river below. Find sandals that don't slip too easily on wet rocks.
3. Bring water and snacks. Remember that the hike to and hike back from the waterfall will take you at least three hours.
4. Maybe wear hiking pants and a long-sleeved shirt. The trails to and from the waterfall can be overgrown with brush. If you don't want your skin getting scratched everywhere, wear hiking pants and a long-sleeved shirt.

Pey-og Falls

Located in barangay Boklaoan, this waterfall may not be as magnificent as Badi Falls but it's beautiful just the same. The hike to the waterfall is also a nice treat.

Mariveles March Hymn Song Lyrics

These are the lyrics for the official hymn of the town of Mariveles in Bataan. The hymn was written and composed by Enrique V. Liloc in 1979.

Mariveles March /Hymn

I
Mariveles, Mariveles pinagpala ng Maykapal
Ang ganda at yaman, pag-asa ng bayan
May pang-akit at panghalina sa mga dayuhan

II
Mariveles, Mariveles tungo sa kaunlaran
Mariveles, Mariveles hanap-buhay ay sagana
Ang simoy ay sariwa, may samyo ng paglaya
May tanawin na pambihira, pang-aliw sa kalungkutan
Mariveles tanyag saan man my bagong lipunan

III
Kay sarap manirahan dito sa aming bayan
Mariveles ngayon at kailan man
Ay hindi malilimutan

IV
Mariveles, Mariveles pangarap ng karamihan
Binata at dalaga, mahirap at mayaman
Kahit malayo ang inyong bayan
Sa ibayong dagat man
Mariveles, Mariveles nais masilayan

(Repeat stanza III and IV.)

Bataan Provincial Hymn Song Lyrics

These are the lyrics for the official hymn song of the province of Bataan in the Philippines. The lyrics are in the Filipino/Tagalog language.

Bataan, mutyang lalawigan

Bataan taos naming hangad
Ang ‘yong kaunlaran,
Tapat na layunin
Ika’y paglingkuran
Talino at buhay aming iaalay
Ng dahil sa iyo mutyang lalawigan
Dasal nami’t hiling sa Dyos na Maykapal
Magpakailan pa man ika’y patnubayan
Sa puso at diwa di ka mawawalay
Laging mamahalin habang nabubuhay

(Repeat the 2nd stanza)

Isabela City Hymn Song Lyrics (Basilan)

These are the lyrics for the official hymn song and anthem of Isabela City in the province of Basilan in Mindanao.

Dear Isabela land of the free
God's blessing shine on thee
With all the good and brotherhood
A great new city you'll be

Dear Isabela cradle of love
The only one we have
We'll work and toil, at sea and soil
And make you great as can be

So endless peace shall reign on every tribe
We'll live as one and dream as one contented family
And endless peace shall light the city bright
Prosperity with dignity in one community

Let's give Isabela our hope, love and honor
Let's sing of her beauty and fame
Come let's all hand in hand work for the better

Aurora, Bayan Ko

Isigaw natin: "Mabuhay ang Aurora!"
Isigaw natin: "Mabuhay ang Aurora!"

Oh Aurora, inang bayan, ika'y makasaysayan

Mabiyaya at masagana, ika'y bayang pinagpala!

Oh Aurora inang bayan, ika'y makasaysayan

Oh Aurora inang bayan, ika'y makasaysayan

Bahandianong kinaiyahan
Bililhong grasya nga sa DIOS gikan
Garbo gayod sa atong nasud
Aurora matahum tang lungsod

Mapahiyumong kababayen-an
Makugihong kalalakin-an
Malamboon kay malinawon

Ang atong kabataan atong panggaon
Paglaum ta sila sa kaugmaon

Balaanong gasa ikaw Aurora

Antique, Banwa Nga Hamili

Antique, ang banwa ko
Bugay kang maka-ako
Bug-os ang kasaysayan kang nagriligad
Sa diin ang unang barangay ginpasad
Antique nga maanyag
Buta kang duna nga manggad
Ang imong baybayun kag kapatagan
Angut sa putli mo nga kabukidan.

Refrain:

Antique, banwa nga hamili
Busay kang amon kabuhi
Himpit kag tayuyon nga palanggaon
Ang imong pag-ugwad matigayon.
Dungog kang imong katawhan
Kamal-aman kag kabataan
Sandig sa ginpasad kang kadatu-an
Banwa nga hilway kag may kalinungan

(Repeat Refrain twice)

English Translation
(by Ulysses C. Loresto)

Antique, my hometown beloved
Bequest from the Creator above
Great is the story of thy noble past
Where the first barangay was formed & cast.
Antique beautiful indeed
Endowed with nature’s bounty & wealth
Thy gem of pristine seas and sprawling plains
Embracing thy immaculate mountains.

Refrain:

Antique, our most precious province
Fountain of our very existence
Worthy of our unbounded affection
Thy growth & progress, our aspiration.
Honor & pride of thy people
Youngsters & elders we adore
Founded on the wisdom of the Datus’ way
Land where freedom and peace do always hold sway.

Kita an Legazpi Ngonyan

Ini na istorya kan gikan ko
Maigos, maboot, matiyaga
Kitang nag-ugat sa poon kan Mayon
Legazpi orogon an gayon

Siyudad kan sakong puso
Burabod nin pagkamoot
Ngonyan buda an maabot
Sa aga, sa aga

Kita gabos an mabilog
Kita na may kusog-boot
Gabos kita'an Legazpi
Legazpi, Legazpi ngonyan!

Ranga kan sadiri an gawi, an ugali
Nasa pagpadaba pag-uswag ta gabos
Kita an banwaan na nagkaborogkos
Iyan an poon kan gabos

Siyudad kan sakong puso
Burabod nin pagkamoot
Ngonyan buda an maabot
Sa aga, sa aga

Kita gabos an mabilog
Kita na may kusog-boot
Gabos kita'an Legazpi
Legazpi, Legazpi ngonyan!

Here's an English translation of the hymn by Victor R. Buenconsejo.

We are the Legazpi Today

Behold the story of my dear land
Of hardworking people and of kind
We all who came forth at Mayon’s perfect slope
Legazpi, whose beauty’s standing proud.

The city that’s dear my heart
Unending love she is the fount
Today and for the future
The future, the future

We all will come unite as one
United with one spirit grand
Oh! We are the Legazpi, Legazpi, Legazpi today!

Our norms and our deeds, console ourselves so dearly
It is through our love we achieve prosperity
Oh! We are the people united as one
That’s where everything has begun

The city that’s dear my heart
Unending love she is the fount
Today and for the future
The future, the future

We all will come unite as one
United with one spirit grand
Oh! We are the Legazpi, Legazpi, Legazpi. . . . today!

English Version

There’s a place in Bicol that we hold dear,
Land of beauty and laughter and song.
Where you see the flowers bloom forever,
Haven to all the weary throng.
Where stand our Mount Mayon the peerless,
Awe inspiring majestic grand,
It’s a place where skies are bluer
This is Albay our own dear land.

Thy name we’ll cherish always,
No matter where we be.
Thy sons shall stand by thee united,
Forever and loyal to thee.

(Repeat first stanza)
(Repeat last two lines of the second stanza)

Bicol Language Version

May lugar digdi sa kabikolan
Na pano ning mga kaogmahan
Mga tawo pobre o mayaman
Sarabay sa pag-uswag nin banwaan

An bulkang Mayon samong ladawan

Mahal na Diyos dai Mo pabayaan
Mahal ming Albay sagkod pa man

Kaming mga Albayano
Saen man magduman
Dai mi nanggad malilingawan
An samuyang dagang tinubuan

Huwag Hahampasin ang Gutom na Lamok by Virgilio Almario (Poem)

This is a poem that I came across when my literature professor in college gave it to our class as an assignment. He wanted us to write an essay on what we think is the meaning of the poem. I remember I had a difficult time writing the essay because the poem is very straightforward.

Unlike other sophisticated poems, Huwag Hahampasin ang Gutom na Lamok means what it says. The title said it all. Don't slap a hungry mosquito. It's much easier to kill the mosquito if you wait for it to have its fill of your blood. By then, it will be as slow as an elephant. Most likely, Alamario used the mosquito as a metaphor for something.

Huwag hahampasin ang gutom na lamok
Pagkat mabilis itong nakakaiwas
Pag payat, may matalas na pakiramdam.
At magaan ang katawan sa paglipad.
Huwag bubuwagin pag-aali-aligid
Dahil baka magtampo’t lumayo tuloy;
Sa halip, magkunwaring pagod o tulog
At braso’y ialay sa kanyang karayom.
Bayaang dumapo, tiisin ang kati,
May sabon o alkohol namang panlinis.
Bayaang magpista sa dugo’t mabusog,
Bayaang maaliw kumagat, sumipsip…
Saka tampalin. At siguradong letse
Ang lamok na simbagal ng elepante.

Agusan del Sur Hymn Song and Lyrics

These are the lyrics for the official provincial hymn of the province of Agusan del Sur. The lyrics were written by Perigrina Leonardo and the music was composed and arranged by Lea A. Guelos.

Hail, Agusan del Sur
The land we love and do adore
Land of spacious skies
And waves of verdant hills and dales
Land where tall trees want to reach the sky

Laughing rivers keep on winding by
All for thee, we march unto our destiny
With love and faith and loyal hearts so true
All for thee, we're all together fair
Or stormy weather
Hail, Agusan del Sur

Agusan del Sur March

Agusan my valley home is dear to me
Though from her my footsteps far may stray
Over mountains, valleys, plains and deep blue sea
I shall love her ever dear where'er I may

Agusan, the smiling land of beauty
Agusan, my heart clings unto thee
Though from her footsteps far away may stray
I shall love her ever dear where'er I may
(Repeat 2x)

Midst North Luzon verdant valleys and hills
Cradle of Filipino heroes brave
Lies Bukaneg land laden with nature’s gift

Murmuring waterfalls and chanting Tingguian tribes
That’s Abra home of Maria Silang

Oh! Abra ever beloved
Oh! Abra ever dearest
Here we come! Here we are! we Abrenians
Together all, from here and afar

To you, willingly we dedicate
That to greater heights, ye shall onward
Upward rise, Abra dear land.

Isabela March Song Lyrics

The Isabela March was composed by Reverend Father Jose Ingaran.

We're Isabela's true and loyal children
And we take pride in her great name
We're marching out to tell all men
Of our lovely province's fame

From old San Pablo to Cordon town
Mallig plains to Palanan
Blest with bountiful wealth
Mental and body health

Other blessings from above
So come join this happy throng
Come Isabelans, come
Sing and shout her glories won
And love her till years to come

We're Isabela's true and loyal children
And we take pride in her great name
We're marching out to tell all men
Of our lovely province's fame

Our number swells as we march along
As it was in yesteryears
We're decided to make the heavens resound

Isabela a home endeared by man upright and free
A land where peace and love abide
Where man of truth reside
Endowed with rich and glorious past
A heritage known and vast
From Palanan to Jones they stood
For freedom and for truth.

Her shining rivers teem with fish and mountains lush with trees
Her fertile fields abound with yields are blessings for our needs

Bless Isabela gracious Lord!
And keep her in your fold
In unison we all proclaim
Her providential fame.

Bless Isabela gracious Lord!
And keep her in your fold
In unison we all proclaim
Her providential fame.

English Version

Nestled in the stately mountains of the Highland fair
Where the pine trees, lilies, orchids, send out scents so rare
Tis the headwaters of four rivers, their icy waterfalls flow
Giving life to land and creatures, as they downward go

Brothers join our throng with fervor
Lift your voices in song
Bless, O God, our Bauko ever
Keep her people strong

Yonder dwell its sturdy people, rising at break of dawn
Tending rice fields in their splendor, built with walls of stone
Vegetables by the truckloads they gather
And luscious fruits their maidens sell
Where the deer runs and birds twitter, glad their stories tell

Kankana-ey Version

Cutting through this beauteous valley.
Flows the Chico River merrily.
Reaching out and doing wonders,
Giving life as it meanders.
To all plants and living creatures.

People in this hometown valley.
They're hard-working, brave, and friendly
And at all times when need arises,
They give their shares of love and treasures,
"Og-ogfo" the i-Fontok way

These are the lyrics for the official La Trinidad hymn song. The hymn was composed and arranged by Dennis P. Flores.

On this green and verdant land I stand
High above great hills close to God
Where the mountains touch my Father’s hand
And the plains stretch forth unclad.

‘Tis my home La Trinidad my pride and joy
Where peace and love ever shine
Nevermore shall anyone dare to destroy
This beloved land of mine.

See my gentle serving people go
With their hearts abounding in love
On this fertile land our food we grow
Blest by heaven’s grace above.

‘Tis my home La Trinidad my pride and joy
Where peace and love ever shine
Nevermore shall anyone dare to destroy
This beloved land of mine.

And tomorrow’s promise beaming bright
For we shall go forth hand and hand
With our hearts and minds we do things right
For the future of our land.

‘Tis my home La Trinidad my pride and joy
Where peace and love ever shine
Nevermore shall anyone dare to destroy
This beloved land of mine.

Mankayan Heaven by Margaret Locano: Song and Lyrics

These are the lyrics for the song Mankayan Heaven as sung by the Igorot singer Margaret Locano.

Close to my heart though we’re far apart
Is a hut on the hill I call home
Peaks reaching high touch the bright blue sky
In a cloudless and measureless dome
When the morning's fresh dew brings its fragrance to you
When the night's blooming flowers by the stars caressed.
Mankayan heaven on earth, fairyland of my birth
And to heaven where I'll find my rest

Patient and kind though she’s left behind
Is the Igorot girl that I love
Clasping her hands made me understand
As if sworn by the stars above
That she’ll wait for me there only hoping I care
Not aware of my innermost heart does yearn
Mankayan heaven’s your name, dear land whence I came
Nest of angels to which I return.

Diadem, purest gem, Mankayan heaven;
Comfort friends, journeys end, Mankayan haven.
